Like usual, I opened my to-do list this morning… and found that for the first time in months, I had reached the bottom of my list.
Before starting on my next big project, I thought I would work on a few stuffs that have been waiting for a while because of lack of time. The first one of these is adding the requested voluntary components to the free nutrition facts panel tool.
Accordingly, I have added polyunsaturated fat, monounsaturated fat and potassium to the labeling tool. I have also changed a little the layout and allowed to input fractions in the number of serving.
Try it and let me know how it works!

Hi I was wondering if you could do a new function on this tool that is very important to a lot of people and one of the most confusing to work out and that is the GI index on the recipes
I would be so happy if this could be done
cheers Karen
Hi Karen,
As far as I know, it is not allowed to include the glycemic index on the nutrition facts label in the US.
Note that if you would like to compute the glycemic index for your recipes in Shop’NCook software, it cannot be accurately computed from formula from the glycemic index of the ingredients of a recipe.
If you want, I can however give you a nutrition script that will display the food glycemic content as a percentage of its carbohydrates, which is similar, although not equivalent, to what the glycemic index measures and will give you a way to compare your recipes.
