iShopNCook app – or why I stopped using shopping lists

I have just learned that my new app has been accepted by the app store. It will be now available in a few days.

It is time I tell you more about it.

I had first the idea of this app a few years ago while shopping.

For years, I have been a huge fan of shopping lists – I even created Shop’NCook software in the first place to help me make shopping lists more efficiently. But then, about two years ago… I stopped using them!

Here is why:

With four growing children, the grocery shopping was becoming always a larger part of our budget, and my focus started to change from saving time to saving money

I suddenly realized that I was missing on a lot of savings by using a fixed shopping list, as I couldn’t adapt the grocery shopping to the current discounts.

That’s how the idea of my new app iShopNCook was born:

An app with a flexible shopping list that would help find recipes that take advantages of the best deals and adapt the shopping list on the fly.

I have summarized my concept for iShopNCook in the report below. Please, download it if you want to know more.

Yes! I have received many times this question by e-mail. :)

I will rest a little after the release and work also on another project I have, but I plan to develop a similar app for the Android next.

Will central Texas HEB be included? Will coupons be included?

    • Mathilde says:

You have to input your own supermarkets, but it is just a few minutes work to add a new supermarket and organize it by aisle.

The app comes with a large database of grocery items organized in categories and you just need to move the categories up or down to conform to your supermarket’s layout.

You have also to input yourself the coupons.
