Sherry,

Thank you for the great suggestions!

You can already send actually your menu to the iPhone by e-mail. I will see what I can do to integrate it with iCal. Happy New Year to you too!

Hi,

I am happy you sent this...I have 3 G I touch. I am excited to send an email of my grocery list, but would like to send the menu calendar to my phone also...the best would be to send the menu calendar to sync w/ my ICAL (which also syncs w/ google cal). I would love to click on the day and see what I planned for dinner that night to check that it still works w/ the ever changing kid schedule and leftovers in the refrigerator. Then I would like to walk in and see under the note portion of my ICAL event for that recipe: the prep instructions and ingredient list! That would be a perfect world.

Another app I would enjoy would take 1 portion of what is for dinner in your meal plan and sync the calories to my Ipod Touch program Lose It! This program is great to keep w/ you on the go during the day and log what you eat, but when it comes to adding 1 portion of a meal, it doesn't do that.

Thanks so much for your thorough and wonderful food planning software! Happy New Year! Healthy New Year! Organized New Year! Good Food New Year!

Comment on Fruit pie, whipped cream, and why the calories are not always where you think by Eileen Stavros

I can't think of anything that whipped cream actually makes taste better? If one thinks or likes whipped cream as a flavor enhancement, then just eat whipped cream on it's own. Personally, the fruit in the pie likely had all the flavor & always seems to for me, so I now always pass on whipped cream or ice cream, which dull the fruit more than enhance it IME.

But regarding whether it's fattening or not, I would think more depends on your TOTAL calories for the day, the week, & so on. You can fool yourself if you think that "this" serving isn't all that much fat, but what else did or will you eat did you eat that day that also has fat in it. Do this sort of denial of accumulated fat day after day, year after year & pretty soon you're likely to have a weight & or health problem, problem. Learning to measure one's food isn't difficult, but I'd bet that we're too brainwashed with advertising that "taste" is what is "good" for us, vs. what is really nutrious, & so we think of measuring anything as a chore, or complicated or not needed. You are what you eat, so you choose. If this thinking is so far off, then why the obesity epidemic?
